Meier building to serve as exhibit space for "Design + Architecture".


"Design + Architecture," an exhibit organized by a selection of New York's leading dealers in 20th century furniture and the decorative arts decorative arts, term referring to a variety of applied visual arts, both two- and three-dimensional, including textiles, metalwork, ceramics, books, and woodwork, as well as to certain aspects of architecture (see ornament), public buildings, and private houses (see , will take place at 165 Charles St., the acclaimed residential condominium featuring architecture and interiors by Richard Meier Richard Meier (born October 12 1934 in Newark, New Jersey) is an influential, contemporary American architect known for his rationalist designs and the use of the colour white. .

The show will illustrate the synergy between great design in all areas of the arts--architecture, furniture, decorative material, painting and sculpture--and has been created to foster a dialogue between them. The exhibition will demonstrate the quality of life afforded by integrating art and design in all aspects of the home--from its interior detailing to its decor.

Participating dealers will include: Antik, Barry Friedman Ltd., Cristina Grajales Inc., Demisch Danant, Magen H. Gallery and R 20th Century.

"Design + Architecture" will feature six of the major specialists in museum quality furniture and decorative arts from the 20th century exhibiting within the context of the contemporary environment for living created by Meier. 165 Charles St. was developed by Alexico Group, owners of The Mark and The Alex hotels, as well developers of a number of residential condominiums in New York City New York City: see New York, city.
