Meet your regional vice presidents.

The National Apartment Association (NAA NAA

Nomina Anatomica Avium.
) and its affiliated local and state apartment associations bring you the resources needed for professional growth in the rental housing industry through ADVOCACY, EDUCATION and COMMUNICATION. This strategic alliance of the local, state and national levels represents the basis of the NAA Network throughout the country. Regional Vice Presidents (RVPs) serve as members of the NAA Board of Directors and report on regional activities at each Board of Directors meeting. They address questions and concerns from within rout region and bring them to the Board of Directors. RVPs assist NAA's efforts in establishing new affiliates and maintaining current affiliate membership within your region. RVPs attend local affiliate meetings as your representative of NAA, responding to member questions and needs. When you join your local affiliated association, you automatically become a member of your state affiliated association and N,1/4. This network strengthens the overall value of your membership at all levels and better promotes the important role that our memhers provide to the American public.

RVPs are the critical link between the local/state affiliated associations and the national association and they sense a pivotal role in NAA's continued success. Please use this directory to contact your elected RVPs or your local association, but most importantly Adv. 1. most importantly - above and beyond all other consideration; "above all, you must be independent"
above all, most especially
to understand how we all benefit by belonging to an organization that supports its members and provides valuable services at the local, state and national levels.

NAA President

The National Apartment Association is governed by its Board of Directors. The Board receives and evaluates reports of the Committees, Councils, Task Forces, the NAA staff and the Executive Committee. It sets the policies and approves the important initiatives for NAA.

NAA is organized into 10 regional entities. Each state is allocated delegates based on its percentage of national dues NAA received in the previous year. The delegates are chosen by the various states. The delegates within each region select Regional Vice Presidents (RVPs) to sit on NAA's Board of Directors.

Each region elects one RVP (RendezVous Protocol) A protocol used to broadcast messages within a peer group. Part of the JXTA open source peer-to-peer computing initiative, RVP clients send requests to rendezvous peers, which grants them a connection lease. . Each region may also elect one additional non-voting R\? who may act and vote at a NAA Board meeting in the absence of the voting RVP. Additionally, the delegates in regions paying the first- and second-highest percentage of national dues, as outlined in the Policies & Procedures, elect two additional RVPs. The regions paying the third-, fourth- and fifth-highest percentages of national dues each elect one additional RVP. Each RVP must be either an owner, developer, builder, operator or manager of rental housing. The delegates in each region may meet periodically, but at least once prior to the annual meeting of the Assembly of Delegates to elect RVPs.

Each RVP shall serve a term of two years. Odd-numbered regions will elect their RVPs to serve a two-year term beginning in odd calendar years. Even-numbered regions will elect their RVPs to serve a two-year term beginning in even calendar years. There are 27 RVPs who serve on the NAA Board of Directors, 17 of whom are voting members.
