Meet America's Brightest Young Scientists at The Intel Science Talent Search.


Intel Corporation (company) Intel Corporation - A US microelectronics manufacturer. They produced the Intel 4004, Intel 8080, Intel 8086, Intel 80186, Intel 80286, Intel 80386, Intel 486 and Pentium microprocessor families as well as many other integrated circuits and personal computer networking :
WHAT:            The Intel Science Talent Search (Intel STS) is the
                 nation's oldest and most prestigious science
                 competition. Take a glimpse into the future of
                 science in America as 40 of the brightest young
                 scientists assemble in Washington, D.C. to showcase
                 research that examines human audio processing, which
                 can be applied to speech recognition technology and
                 cochlear implants; a study of mosquito-borne equine
                 illnesses; development and optimization of a remotely
                 piloted Micro Air Vehicle; and a new method for
                 determining the age and mass of brown dwarf stars.
                 The students responsible for these projects -- and
                 many others -- will compete March 9-14 for
                 scholarships and prizes totaling $530,000. The top
                 prize is a $100,000 college scholarship. STS is part
                 of Intel's $100 million annual commitment to
                 education.

WHEN:            Media are invited to attend the student project
                 display March 12-13 as well as the awards ceremony on
                 March 14. Both events offer the opportunity for
                 reporters, photographers and TV crews to speak with
                 the students.
