Medsurge to Open Colo Rectal Health Clinics in the United States.

NORTH VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- MEDSURGE MEDICAL PRODUCTS CORP. (the "Company" or "Medsurge") (TSX VENTURE:MSR) is pleased to announce its plan to establish Colo Rectal Health (CRH) Clinics in the USA market. This decision stems from managements objective to evaluate and consider alternate methods that will increase the rate of adoption of its proprietary O'Regan Disposable Ligator. The development of the Strategic Business Plan represents over 400 hours of analysis and recommendations that comprised the Organizational Consulting Project of an MBA program. The strategic plan was developed by David Bonner under the guidelines of Royal Roads University in Victoria, British Columbia. The OCP component is the culmination of a full, two year MBA program with Mr. Bonner's specialty of Management Consulting.

The focus of this analysis was to evaluate all aspects of clinic viability utilizing several business model options. With management's objective of penetrating the United States market, in-depth analysis of the dynamics within the health care market was required. The plan delivered concise, tactical recommendations based upon current "best practices" and leading-edge thinking on the competitive forces within the market.

The Company has chosen a conservative rollout strategy that will establish CRH Clinics as "Centers for Excellence" focusing strictly on the treatment of hemorrhoids, and associated ailments, which is to include FOBT screening for the early detection of colon cancer. The plan recommendations are to proceed with the opening of a first CRH Clinic in one of the larger populated regions of the United States. Financial projections indicate that subsequent CRH Centers can be financed from the proceeds of the first and subsequent locations or through other non equity related means. Test marketing with recruitment advertisements in surgical trade publications were recently conducted resulting in a strong positive response with surgeon interest in many of the recommended target locations. Medsurge has identified and will begin final negotiations shortly with regards to the opening of its first location. Further developments along with the opening date will be announced once finalized.

Medsurge's decision to move forward in this direction was also influenced by the proven successes experienced by Dr. Patrick O'Regan in his office clinic that performed over 3000 procedures and most recently with the proven success of Dr. Iain Cleator's specialized clinic which deals exclusively with the most common anorectal  problems mainly hemorrhoids, fissures and colorectal cancer screening. Dr. Cleator recently published his findings with regards to 5424 procedures performed using the Medsurge banding system. Essentially the CRH Clinics will incorporate and duplicate many of Dr. Cleator's related and proven concepts into its business model. Dr. O'Regan and Dr. Cleator will be assisting Medsurge with the set up, training, implementation, and maintenance of the project. Both are also shareholders, board and advisory board members respectively of Medsurge.

Medsurge would also like to announce that Mr. David Bonner will be managing the rollout of clinics. He will be utilizing many of his diverse skills and experience in this role. David spent nine years in the contact lens industry with leading companies such as Bausch & Lomb, Coopervision and Wesley-Jessen. He has extensive experience in dealing within the medical community, developing distribution networks and sales and marketing across North America. These skills in conjunction with his recent MBA and the development of the strategic business plan for the clinics make him an ideal candidate for implementation. Medsurge is pleased to have David join its team to spearhead this exciting new venture.
