Medieval magic in Ocean Springs.


King Arthur and Guinevere themselves couldn't resist an invitation to the Ocean Springs Renaissance Festival April 23-25. This "Faire Sur la Mer," or "Fair By the Sea," is Mississippi's only Renaissance festival and has been nominated as one of the Top 20 events in the Southeast.

Children will love the enchanting Fairy Garden, a magical land filled with tiny furniture and fairy costumes, as well as the Royal Petting Zoo, puppet shows, arts and crafts arts and crafts, term for that general field of applied design in which hand fabrication is dominant. The term was coined in England in the late 19th cent. as a label for the then-current movement directed toward the revivifying of the decorative arts. , and a castle climbing wall.

 and will be held at the Gulf Hills Hotel and Conference Center, 13701 Paso Rd. Attendees are encouraged but not required to come in costume. All proceeds are donated to local charities.
