This company has integrated its Smart Block connector interface technology into its Smart Cable connections designed specifically for minimally invasive surgical and diagnostic instruments and hand pieces. The design reduces manufacturing costs, raises production yields and provides greater performance and reliability than comparable connectors. In many applications, the connector does not affect any regulatory filings and can be used as a drop-in replacement for connectors used in disposable medical devices. The production process, originally developed for the mass production of PCBs, eliminates hand-assembly tasks, particularly relating to AWG fine wire terminations. Fully integrated miniature and micro scale chip modules can be embedded seamlessly into the plugs of cable connectors.
