Fischer as its Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Fischer is a Certified Public Accountant Certified Public Accountant (CPA) An accountant who has met certain standards, including experience, age, and licensing, and passed exams in a particular state. and has over 20 years of executive level experience working for global companies. Mr. Fischer most recently acted as an independent consultant providing financial advisory services to start-ups, a foreign-based company with U.S. operations, and a not-for profit research institution. Mr. Fischer was formerly the Chief Executive Officer of the North American operations for Lurgi Lentjes, AG, which provides engineering and construction for the electric utility industry. Prior to this appointment, he spent over ten years with Babcock Borsig Capital Corporation (f/k/a Deutsche Babcock), a German based U.S. financial services holding company, as President and Chief Executive Officer and Vice President, Finance and Treasurer. BBCC's businesses included engineering, manufacturing and construction, primarily for the electric utility industry, and manufacturing, processing, and distribution companies. Mr. Fischer joined BBCC to establish centralized treasury, tax and accounting/reporting functions for the U.S. group. He led more than half a dozen acquisitions and dispositions, and initiated financial restructuring. Prior to BBCC, Mr. Fischer worked for Bruel & Kjaer Instruments, Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of a Danish company, as Chief Financial Officer and part of a new team to return the company to profitability. B&K produced medical ultra-sound equipment, and other electronic sound and vibration diagnostic instrumentation. Mr. Fischer was also a Manager with KPMG Peat Marwick with experience in both the audit and tax departments. Mr. Fischer earned a BA in Economics from Providence College, an MBA from Babson College, and an MS, Taxation from Bentley College.
