Ariza has played a critical role in helping to achieve presidential and congressional mandates by providing systems that enable a comprehensive, lifelong medical record for all servicemembers. Ariza has twice been recognized by the Army Medical Department (AMEDD AMEDD Army Medical Department (US Army) ) for his role in advancing medical information technology in the battlefield. In 2002, the AMEDD named Ariza Officer of the Year for his leadership at Fort Hood, Texas, where he helped automate healthcare information for medical, dental, and veterinary programs.
