PLANO, Texas Plano (IPA: /ˈpleɪnoʊ/) is a wealthy suburb of Dallas, Texas, located to the north, mainly within Collin County, but also extending into Denton County. According to the 2000 U.S.  -- Medical Center of Plano has announced the opening of the Scoliosis Center of Excellence, one of a few select sites for scoliosis and deformity correction in the country. Staffed by Texas Back Institute's Barton L. Sachs, M.D., the Scoliosis Center of Excellence is the premier national site for high quality medical services for scoliosis patients.

 surgery required by around 40 percent of the approximately one in every 333 people diagnosed with scoliosis each year. Dr. Sachs says the need for a program like the one being offered at Medical Center of Plano to patients of all ages is very real to this population.

"Patients I've already worked with to launch this program were unable to get help from other doctors prior to coming to us," Dr. Sachs said. "But the physical and psychological improvements after surgery in just one life created enough motivation for Medical Center of Plano to launch this program, which has the potential to help thousands more."
