Mediatec Publishing to launch "Chief Learning Officer".

MeidaTec Publishing, Inc. (Chicago, IL), the publisher of Certification Magazine and IT Contractor, will begin the publication of CLO (Chief Learning Officer) with an issue in September. To be published six times a year, the new title will have a controlled circulation of 25,000 executives at major U.S. corporations who are developing, implementing or funding enterprise -- level workforce development projects.

MediaTec said that each issue will carry information designed to "help executives make the most of employee training and education programs," including expert commentary, case studies of successful corporate applications, profiles of corporate executives using training programs, and "The Fairfield Report," market research results on corporate training. The title will also produce an electronic newsletter, "CLO Executive Briefing" and a related Web site.

MediaTec executive vice president John Taggart said the launch "is coming into the market when it's needed most. CLO is directed to the most difficult-to-reach executives of companies that employ 1000 or more people. Unlike other magazines, we drive the message of workforce education up from the training and HR departments into the executive suite, where approval and understanding is paramount."
