Media Station Brings Launch Media's Music Content to SelectPlay; Latest Music, Artist Profiles To Be Available Via Broadband in Real Time.

Business Editors

ANN ARBOR, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 1, 2000

Media Station, Inc., the leader in delivering broadband interactive media, and LAUNCH Media, Inc. (NASDAQ: LAUN), today announced the expansion of Media Station's SelectPlay service (www.selectplay.com) into the music category, via broadband delivery of LAUNCH Media's (www.launch.com) high-bandwidth music content.

With this agreement, SelectPlay now offers cable modem and DSL subscribers the most immediate access to LAUNCH(R)'s monthly multimedia content of the latest music releases, self-guided artist interviews, and exclusive music performances.

SelectPlay now becomes the only broadband, on-demand interactive service to offer the latest and most current music content from LAUNCH, which currently delivers its interactive experience directly to more than 300,000 subscribers.

SelectPlay subscribers already receive the most popular content from the best of the broadband interactive industry's multimedia providers, including Activision, Disney Interactive, Hasbro Interactive, GT Interactive, Havas Interactive, Knowledge Adventure, Interplay, and now Launch.com.

With the addition of LAUNCH content, the SelectPlay service has reinforced its position as the industry's highest quality multimedia experience, offering top-selling games, sports, education, music, home activity, and entertainment multimedia over broadband.

"Content and distribution work hand in hand," said Dave Goldberg, CEO of LAUNCH. "The subscribers who have been attracted by SelectPlay's premier lineup of titles and high quality user experience will immediately provide us with an entirely new audience, all of whom are conversant with multimedia. The importance of the playback technology behind SelectPlay is sometimes forgotten, but that's the muscle behind the user experience we were looking for."

"What sets SelectPlay apart from its competition is its focus on partnerships with top-quality content providers that provide the consumer the best selection of content combined with exceptional playback experience," said Jim Maslyn, president and CEO of Media Station. "Our relationship with LAUNCH continues that dedication by offering our subscribers the best music and video experience available over broadband."

SelectPlay's base technology, the Media Remote(SM) system, is the only technology that enables real-time play of top-selling titles at speeds as low as 256 Kbs, as well as playing the most multimedia intensive titles in the marketplace.

Media Station's SelectPlay distribution partners include AT&T, Comcast, Sprint, Time Warner Cable, Qwest/U S WEST, ZoomTown/Broadwing, and many other high-speed carrier partners.
