approval of MyoviewT (a new cost efficient cardiac imaging agent) additional expansion and support for the network is planned.

Medi-Physics will introduce the MOST software, a specially commissioned software program that will act as an on-site consultant for physicians and hospitals doing nuclear medicine. This software has the benefits of assisting the user to both correctly code procedures to ensure proper reimbursement, and allows them to analyze potential managed care contracts to evaluate if the contract will allow them to make a profit, lose money or break even.

Recently Medi-Physics has added to its own pharmacy sites by adding new facilities in Memphis, TN. and Grand Rapids Grand Rapids, city (1990 pop. 189,126), seat of Kent co., SW central Mich., on the Grand River; inc. 1850. The second largest city in the state, it is a distribution, wholesale, and industrial center for an area that yields fruit, dairy products, farm produce, , MI., while additional new facilities have been opened by Geodax Technology Inc., Central Pharmacy Services Inc. and Mallinckrodt Medical Inc., all operators of multiple radiopharmacy facilities. With this expansion, the pharmacy network has grown from an initial 85 sites to 126 with further locations to open in the near future.

The addition of a number of other independent sites from Florida to Alaska allows the network to assure broad availability of unit-dose radiopharmaceuticals to a majority of the hospitals and clinics in the US which offer nuclear medicine services. These specialized pharmacies utilize specially trained Pharmacists and technologists to prepare, quality check and dispense important diagnostic and therapeutic doses for specific patients in the local imaging centers. The use of these specialists relieves the user hospitals and clinics from having to employ expensive staff, and greatly reduces the costs of radiopharmaceuticals by preventing unnecessary spoilage spoilage

and waste of the short-lived materials. It also allows for doses prepared under the supervision of highly trained and motivated experts that are not readily available at local facilities. Medi-Physics established the network to ensure the widest availability of its full line of products and superior services to all users, while increasing competition among manufacturers and distributors of radiopharmaceutical radiopharmaceutical /ra·dio·phar·ma·ceu·ti·cal/ (-fahr?mah-soo´ti-k'l) a radioactive pharmaceutical, nuclide, or other chemical used for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes.  products for managed care and group purchasing business.

As a part of the comprehensive assessment of the marketplace, Medi-Physics has recently settled all existing disputes with Syncor International Corporation, and as a part of this settlement, it has been determined that Medi-Physics will sell CeretecR to Syncor under a 1994 consignment agreement. As a result of this agreement, Syncor will distribute Ceretec, on a non-exclusive basis, for a two year period through its pharmacy network. Medi-Physics proprietary product Ceretec, is a radiopharmaceutical which is used for brain imaging and white blood cell labeling.

Medi- Physics has announced to their network members that they will add significant support in the form of Medicare and managed care reimbursement software and in marketing programs to support sales. Further, Medi-Physics is shifting significant marketing funds for direct support of network members to allow them to provide on-site consultancies in Nuclear Medicine for their users.

Amersham Healthcare, as the worldwide leader in radiopharmaceutical sales, profits and R&D investment, believes radiopharmacies are an important part of providing cost effective high quality patient care. In addition to expanding the US pharmacy distribution network to 126 sites, the largest of its kind, Amersham is expanding pharmacy services to Canada, Hong Kong Hong Kong (hŏng kŏng), Mandarin Xianggang, special administrative region of China, formerly a British crown colony (2005 est. pop. 6,899,000), land area 422 sq mi (1,092 sq km), adjacent to Guangdong prov.  and the UK as part of growing its world leading health science company position.
