Medallion Cabinetry Designer Honored in Kitchen Design Competition.


MINNEAPOLIS -- At the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show in Chicago April 20th, the National Kitchen and Bath Association's (NKBA NKBA National Kitchen & Bath Association ) annual design contest awards were announced to showcase the best designs among NKBA members. , was honored with a second place award in the showroom design category. DeRusha's entry featured a inset cabinetry in quarter-sawn oak, designed in an Arts and Crafts arts and crafts, term for that general field of applied design in which hand fabrication is dominant. The term was coined in England in the late 19th cent. as a label for the then-current movement directed toward the revivifying of the decorative arts.  style.

The NKBA competition covers 11 categories, which include kitchen and bath categories, master suites/bathrooms, powder rooms, showrooms, other rooms and non-residential spaces. A panel of 14 NKBA Certified See certification.  Members, selected from dozens of volunteers, judges each entry based on a safe, functional use of space, innovative design solutions, professional presentation and an overall aesthetic statement. Judges select first, second and third place winners and an honorable mention recipient in each category.
