Tara Mondock, Business Development Director of Healthcare at IVANS, said, "More than 200 providers and clearinghouses have already signed up with IVANS Real-Time Medicare Verification solution. The popularity of this solution is due in part because it eliminates the need to perform patient verifications via inefficient phone calls, thereby reducing the risk of taking on collections in validating patient coverage as well as accelerating the claims process for collection of secondary payer information. We look forward to strengthening our relationship with MedAvant through the addition of our Medicare verification solution, and welcome them as our newest member."

The Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare (CAQH CAQH Coalition for Affordable Quality Healthcare ) calls the ability to verify patient insurance information "one of the biggest administrative challenges identified by providers." A CAQH committee adopted a guideline that providers should be able to verify a patient's insurance eligibility from participating health plans in 20 seconds or less by March 31, 2007. More than 70 million Americans are covered by health plans which agreed to that standard. MedAvant is one of several companies committed to the CAQH standard.
