MedAssets Signs Agreement with Holy Name Hospital for Supply Chain Solutions.

ATLANTA -- MedAssets has signed a multi-year agreement with Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck, N.J., to implement supply chain solutions. Holy Name Hospital's former group purchasing organization A group purchasing organization is an entity that leverages the purchasing power of a group of businesses to obtain discounts from vendors based on the collective buying power of the GPO members. Many GPOs are funded by administrative fees that are actually paid by the vendors.  affiliation was with HPPI HPPI - High Performance Parallel Interface  and New Jersey Hospital Association. The facility has a total annual supply spend of approximately $27 million. The contract was effective May 1, 2005.

The new agreement with MedAssets provides Holy Name Hospital with an online contract catalog, CDQuick(R), which includes regional and national contracts ensuring optimal cost savings for all purchases. This supply chain technology allows quick access to all contract detail and pricing information, graphic representation of utilization per contract, and an alert system to announce compliance and pricing updates.
