MedAssets Announces Richard Friedman as Vice President, Corporate Governance.

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 20, 2003

MedAssets, Inc. is pleased to announce that Richard Friedman has joined the organization as vice president, corporate governance Corporate Governance

The relationship between all the stakeholders in a company. This includes the shareholders, directors, and management of a company, as defined by the corporate charter, bylaws, formal policy, and rule of law.

Mr. Friedman will be responsible for overseeing compliance with the MedAssets Standards of Business Conduct and the fulfillment of the MedAssets' reporting requirements. MedAssets released its Code of Conduct on March 12. To access the Code of Conduct, visit www.medassets.com.

Earlier this year, Jonathan Glenn, executive vice president, MedAssets, Inc., along with HIGPA HIGPA Health Industry Group Purchasing Association  officials and executives from four of the largest group purchasing organizations, developed specific operating guidelines, which included the appointment of a compliance officer at each GPO.

Richard Friedman previously worked at Glenayre Technologies, Atlanta, GA, where he was responsible for, among other duties, establishing and implementing corporate compliance, internal audit, and corporate governance programs. Prior to that, Mr. Friedman held several positions at BellSouth over a 20-year period. Richard is a graduate of Ohio State University Ohio State University, main campus at Columbus; land-grant and state supported; coeducational; chartered 1870, opened 1873 as Ohio Agricultural and Mechanical College, renamed 1878. There are also campuses at Lima, Mansfield, Marion, and Newark.  and holds many certifications including Certified Internal Auditor (CIA CIA: see Central Intelligence Agency.
