This study presents the development and the validation of the Sexual-Esteem Scale for adolescents (SES-a). A total of 207 middle-adolescents (age 14-18), 101 males and 105 females, took part in this study. The sample with mean age 15.42 (SD = 1.14) was drawn from a high school in Salamanca. I developed a 76-item questionnaire inspired from the literature review and applied it to the sample. The application was conducted in several group sessions (45-50 individuals per session) and took around one hour. After item and factor analysis, I reduced the scale to 30 items, and item analysis revealed a high internal consistency In statistics and research, internal consistency is a measure based on the correlations between different items on the same test (or the same subscale on a larger test). It measures whether several items that propose to measure the same general construct produce similar scores. (f = 0.76) for the 30-item scale. The factor structure of the instrument was determined by principal components factor analysis with Varimax rotation and Kaiser normalization In relational database management, a process that breaks down data into record groups for efficient processing. There are six stages. By the third stage (third normal form), data are identified only by the key field in their record. . It provided a nine-factor solution, with factors of Corporal CORPORAL. An epithet for anything belonging to the body, as, corporal punishment, for punishment inflicted on the person of the criminal; corporal oath, which is an oath by the party who takes it being obliged to lay his hand on the Bible.
CORPORAL, in the army. satisfaction, Evaluation of the capacity for passion, Evaluation of attractiveness, Evaluation of the self-efficacy to approach, Relationship satisfaction, Sexual orientation sexual orientation
The direction of one's sexual interest toward members of the same, opposite, or both sexes, especially a direction seen to be dictated by physiologic rather than sociologic forces. comfort, Capacity to engage in compromise, Openness of parents for sex-talking, and Satisfaction with body changes during adolescence adolescence, time of life from onset of puberty to full adulthood. The exact period of adolescence, which varies from person to person, falls approximately between the ages 12 and 20 and encompasses both physiological and psychological changes. . This factor structure explained 61% of the variance. Although there is a general tendency toward equality between genders, differences were found in Corporal satisfaction, where women obtained lower scores than men. Psychometrical analysis demonstrated that the SES-a is an appropriate instrument to evaluate this psychological dimension.
