McWilliam's Hanwood Estate(R) Launches Nationwide Search for America's Finest Porch; 129-Year-Old Australian Winemaking Family to Award Winner of ''America's Finest Porch'' Contest with All-Expense-Paid Trip to Australia.


SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Given outdoor entertaining continues to surge in popularity and a porch is an ideal place to enjoy a glass of wine with friends and family, McWilliam's has announced a nationwide search for "America's Finest Porch." In fact, one lucky winner will be chosen to experience an opportunity of a lifetime -- an all-expense-paid trip to Australia and a chance to sip wine with the McWilliams, one of Australia's most respected winemaking families, on their old-world veranda overlooking their sprawling and picturesque vineyards.

For the McWilliam winemaking family, six generations of family members have entertained and shared stories on their veranda located in Australia's Riverina, an area in New South Wales New South Wales, state (1991 pop. 5,164,549), 309,443 sq mi (801,457 sq km), SE Australia. It is bounded on the E by the Pacific Ocean. Sydney is the capital. In fact, a recently conducted 1,100-respondent survey of U.S. consumers(1) revealed 57 percent of Americans identified an outdoor porch or veranda as the perfect location to enjoy a glass of wine and share conversations or stories with friends and family (16 percent chose a dining room or kitchen, 14 percent chose a restaurant or bar, and 14 percent chose a family room).

Contest entries will be accepted between now and November 19, 2006. Entrants must be at least 21 years of age at time of entry. The winner will be announced by January 8, 2007.
