McMurry continues expansion with acquisition of inOne advertising and PR agency.


McMurry, one of the nation's leading custom media companies and Arizona's largest marketing firm, has acquired inOne Advertising & Public Relations, a full-service agency based in Fountain Hills, Arizona Fountain Hills is a town in Maricopa County, Arizona, USA. It incorporated as an independent municipality in 1989, after spending most of its history as a master planned development on the far northern end of (now neighboring) Scottsdale. .

The deal adds 6 staff members to the McMurry team and 20 clients in the golf, travel and tourism, and real estate industries--including Billy Casper Golf Management, San Luis Obispo San Luis Obispo (săn l`ĭs ōbĭs`pō), city (1990 pop. 41,958), seat of San Luis Obispo co., S Calif., near San Luis Obispo Bay; inc. 1856.  County, Cielo Phoenix, and The Club at La Costa.

"Every once in a while you run into an opportunity that makes great sense, and this happens to be an example of that," CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. "The deal fills key new positions for which we were actively recruiting nationally, and brings with those positions revenue to support them, which is an ideal scenario. We also add depth and expertise in terms of our people and portfolio."

Tom Garrett, inOne's president, becomes McMurry's vice president of client services. Lisa Bernard, inOne's creative director, becomes creative director at McMurry, while McMurry's Bruce Nilsson has been promoted to vice president and chief creative officer, with a more active role in business development.

Fast growth

Since 1998, McMurry has made 9 acquisitions--3 in the custom media arena, 5 in the subscription-base information services niche, and inOne.

Today, 150 people work for McMurry, a twofold increase over the last 3 years. It is also a leading player in the burgeoning custom publications industry.

McMurry publishes 6 newsletters, including Copy Editor and Publications Management, as well as publications for Glaxo-SmithKline, The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Co., CBS (Cell Broadcast Service) See cell broadcast. , Aon, IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries) , and Amtrak Amtrak, the National Railroad Passenger Corp., authorized to operate virtually all intercity passenger railroad routes in the United States.
