McMillin's Kathleen Riser to Present at New Partners for Smart Growth Conference.


McMillin's Vice President of Land Development Will Share Knowledge of Base Reuse

SAN DIEGO -- The Corky McMillin Companies are pleased to announce that Kathleen Riser, the Vice President of Project Management for McMillin Land Development and expert on former BRAC Brač (bräch), Ital. Considered the premier smart growth conference held each year, the 2007 New Partners for Smart Growth program will feature progressive smart growth issues, the latest research, implementation tools and strategies, successful case studies, and interactive learning experiences.

As one of the leading smart growth strategies covered at the conference, Ms. Riser will be speaking at the breakout session "Turning Bases into Great Places," a response to the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure Base Realignment and Closure (or BRAC) is a process of the United States federal government directed at the administration and operation of the Armed Forces, used by the United States Department of Defense (DoD) and Congress to close excess military installations and realign  Recommendations, which slated 25 U.S. military bases for closure. This session, on February 9, 2007, from 10:15 to 11:30 am in room San Gabriel A, will explore some of the major challenges and opportunities facing communities with closed or closing bases, and will look at two success stories, Liberty Station and Heritage Fields, and the lessons learned from their experiences. Ms. Riser will discuss the redevelopment of the former Naval Training Center (NTC) into Liberty Station, while Robert Santos, President & CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of Lennar's Heritage Fields Division, will discuss the realignment of the former El Toro Marine Corps Air Station into Heritage Fields.
