Doctoral Scholarships are due to the Foundation by August 14, 2003. Recipients will be announced in November 2003. Completed applications for the 2004 Research Grants are due to the Foundation by August 15, 2003. The maximum amount for these 1-year research grants is $40,000. Up to 3 research grants may be funded in 2004 for research related to the effectiveness of physical therapy interventions. The Foundation's Research Grant program funds research studies by emerging investigators. An "emerging investigator" is a person who has had some previous research experience and who either (1) has completed postprofessional graduate or postgraduate postgraduate after first degree graduation, the registerable degree in veterinary science. postgraduate degree may be a research degree, e.g. PhD, or a course-work masterate with a vocational bias, or any combination of these. work and has not received R01 or equivalent federal funding or (2) is beginning in a new field of research or is making strategic changes in research direction within an existing line of research. The Foundation's intent is to fund the highest-quality scientifically based and clinically relevant research with priority given to projects having the most immediate clinical application.
