McLemore-Pittman. (2003 Wedding Register).Mary Johns McLemore and Thomas Michael Pittman, Jr. were united in marriage during a candlelight evening ceremony on December 29, 2001, at the First United Methodist Church in Corinth. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Richard McLemore of Corinth. Her grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Leo Rights Norman and Mrs. Richard Benson McLemore and the late Mr. McLemore of Corinth. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Michael Pittman of Corinth. His grandparents are Mr. James Earl Vanderford and the late Mrs. Martha Vanderford and the late Mr. and Mrs. Hilton Pittman of Corinth. The double-ring ceremony was officiated by Rev. Clifton Rodney Borders. Nuptial music was presented by Sarah Mallory Ellington, organist; Cindy Little Mathis, harpist; and a string quartet under the direction of Dr. Robert Riggs. The vocalist was Dr. Curt McLemore, uncle of the bride. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a Christos ivory gown of beaded embroidered French Alencon lace appliqued on English net. Beaded braid traced the neckline of the strapless bodice. The sheath gown swept to a cathedral train. The hem was traced with a deep lace border. The back was adorned with covered buttons. The bride's veil was four layers that featured freshwater pearls and Swarovski crystals on the points. Mary Johns carried white roses tied with white silk ribbons. Attending the bride as maid of honor was Christine Elise Droke. The matron of honor was Ann Elise Penn Booth. Serving as bridesmaids were Jennifer Brooke Ballard, Mary Katherine Butler, Jennifer Ashley Pittman, and Amanda Bush Puckett. The attendants wore two-piece gowns of antique white dupioni silk. They carried pomanders of mistletoe, Ming fern, and white roses. The best man was the father of the groom. Groomsmen were James Richard Butler, James William Cocke III, Will Rodger Conn, Robert Jason LeGoff, Gerald Richard McLemore, Jr., David Alexander Mosal II, Tyler Lee Pittman, Richard Hastings Puckett, Jr., and Christopher Todd Welch. The ushers were Marion Clayton Grubbs and Hilton C. Pittman III. The acolytes were Curtis Estes McLemore, Jr., John Goodson McLemore, and David Camp Pittman. The house party included Dorothy Dale Grubbs with Molly Walker Clement serving as the as the bride's proxy. Program attendants were Lauren Michelle Little, Leslie Michael Little, Meredith McCormack Pittman, Sarah Kate Vanderford, and Lindsay Shae Vanderford. Following the ceremony, the bride's parents hosted a reception at 515 Fillmore Street in downtown Corinth. Music was provided by Meet the Press. On the eve of the wedding, the parents of the groom honored the couple with a rehearsal dinner at Datans in Corinth. Earlier that day, the bridesmaids' luncheon was given by Mrs. Curt McLemore, aunt of the bride; Miss Christine Droke and her mother, Mrs. Clint Droke; and Mrs. Tony Whyte, who hosted the event in her home, Robbins Nest. On the morning of the wedding, a brunch was held in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Norman, the bride's grandparents. Following a skiing trip to Breckinridge, Colorado, the couple is at home in Corinth. |
