McLane Announces Shift in Leadership of Grocery, Foodservice Divisions.



TEMPLE, Texas -- McLane Company McLane Company, Inc. is the nation's largest wholesale-distributor of consumer packaged goods to the convenience store trade and other retail channels. It is also a major foodservice distributor to the quickservice restaurant industry. , Inc. announced today that after 24 years of dedicated service, Terry McElroy, President of McLane Grocery Distribution, has decided to retire effective February 2006.

McElroy joined McLane in 1981 as Vice President of Distribution and has had a rewarding career with the company. He is highly respected as one of the most knowledgeable logistic executives in the industry.

McElroy has cultivated countless business relationships and friendships with McLane teammates, customers, vendors and other associates and his legacy will remain through the many individuals he has assisted, mentored and influenced during their careers at McLane.

With the announcement of McElroy's retirement, McLane also announced that Mike Youngblood, current President of McLane Foodservice Distribution, has accepted the position of President, McLane Grocery Distribution.

Youngblood's career with McLane began at the company's Western Division in Longmont, Colorado The City of Longmont is a home rule municipality located in Boulder County and Weld County, Colorado, United States. It is the seat of Houston County, and portions of the city are in Dale County and Henry County. , McLane Southern in Brookhaven, Mississippi Brookhaven is a small city in Lincoln County, Mississippi, United States. The pronunciation of the city's name puts the emphasis on the second syllable rather than the first, as "Brook-HAV'en".  in Falmouth, Virginia Falmouth is an unincorporated community in Stafford County, Virginia, United States. He served as a Director in the Logistics Department at the McLane Company Home Office, and held the position of Regional Vice President, Atlantic Region, for McLane Grocery Distribution from 1997 to 2000.

Most recently, Youngblood has served as the President of McLane Foodservice Distribution since its acquisition in December 2000. During the past five years, McLane Foodservice has flourished by achieving its financial objectives, providing great customer service, and developing a strong team-oriented environment. Mike has provided great leadership in assimilating the McLane Company culture into the Foodservice business unit. He has been especially successful in identifying, developing, and motivating a strong leadership team that is positioned to continue its success into the future.

Rosier said of Youngblood, "I am confident that Mike will bring the same strong work ethic, vision and leadership to the Grocery Distribution business unit."

Youngblood will continue to provide leadership to McLane Foodservice while transitioning into his new role. McLane expects to announce a new President for the Foodservice Distribution business in the near future.
