McDonnell Douglas McDonnell Douglas was a major American aerospace manufacturer and defense contractor, producing a number of famous commercial and military aircraft. It merged with Boeing in 1997 to form The Boeing Company.  Corp., a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Boeing Company, St. Louis, is being awarded a $16,000,000 ceiling-priced modification to a previously awarded fixed-price-incentive-fee contract (N00019-00-C-0307) to provide the Initial Low Rate Production (LRIP LRIP Low Rate Initial Production

) activities to protect the delivery schedule for advanced mission computers and displays that will be integrated into the F/A-18 E/F E/F Educator/Facilitator  Lot 26 aircraft. Work will be performed in Albuquerque, N.M. (41%); St. Louis (36%); and Minneapolis (23%); and will be completed by July 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Systems Command The Naval Air Systems Command, or NAVAIR, is the part of the United States Navy which provides materiel support for naval aircraft and airborne weapon systems, such as guided missiles. NAVAIR was established in 1966 as the successor to the Navy's Bureau of Naval Weapons (BuWeps). , Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.
