 McDONNELL DOUGLAS WILL LAUNCH COMMUNICATIONS SATELLITE, OCT. 12
 McDonnell Douglas of Huntington Beach, Calif., will launch the DFS 3 Kopernikus communications satellite on board a Delta II 7925 expendable launch vehicle Oct. 12, at 5:47 a.m. EDT from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station (CCAFS), Fla. The launch window will close at 6:18 a.m. The second launch window will open at 9:42 a.m. and extend until 10:28 a.m.
 The company will hold a pre-launch press conference at 1 p.m. on Oct. 11, in the Challenger Ballroom of the Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel, 2080 N. Atlantic Ave., Cocoa Beach.
 Any reporter or photographer wishing to gain access to the press site must meet at the CCAFS Pass and I.D. Center located near the CCAFS South Gate on Cape Road/SR 401 (take Highway 528 and follow signs directing to Cape Canaveral Air Force Station) at 4:15 a.m. on Oct. 12.
 Remote cameras will be placed at the Delta launch complex the morning of Oct. 11. Any photographer wishing to set up a camera should meet at the CCAFS Pass and I.D. Center at 9 a.m.
 McDonnell Douglas Communications will set up a press center at CCAFS, 407-730-1519. When the office is not staffed, Anne McCauley can be reached via cellular phone at 407-258-7389. Sheila Carter- Hart may be reached at 407-258-3599.

 The launch will be available via satellite from Galaxy 6, transponder 11.
