 McDONNELL DOUGLAS NAMES JOHN D. TYSON DIVISION DIRECTOR
 OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT FOR McDONNELL AIRCRAFT
 ST. LOUIS, Feb. 13, 1992 -- John D. Tyson has been named division director of business development for McDonnell Aircraft Co.
 In his new position, Tyson will share responsibility for leadership of the business development division with Robert H. Trice, vice president of business development. The division is responsible for global marketing, strategic planning, communications and diversification activities.
 McDonnell Aircraft currently produces the F/A-18 Hornet, F-15 Eagle, AV-8B Harrier and T-45 Goshawk. It is also in competition for several advanced aircraft programs, including the AX for the United States Navy.
 Tyson joined McDonnell Douglas Corp. (NYSE: MD) in 1983 as manager of international affairs, following 21 years as a Marine fighter pilot and an interim period as an aerospace consultant to the government. In 1984, he was named marketing manager for McDonnell Aircraft's Navy/Marine Corps aircraft programs, and in 1985, he was promoted to corporate director of marketing for all of the corporation's Navy programs.
 In 1987, Tyson was named program manager for the advance A-12 program. He was named A-12 deputy general manager in 1988, and assumed the position of general manager in 1991.
 A native of Huntsville, Ala., Tyson earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Pepperdine University.
