McDONALD'S OFFERS SPECIAL DISCOUNT TO SENIOR CITIZENS; CUSTOMERS AGE 60 AND ABOVE CAN PURCHASE 25-CENT DRINKS

OAK BROOK, Ill., May 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Senior citizens can now receive a special discount on a regular basis at McDonald's. Customers age 60 and above are now able to purchase a small eight-ounce coffee or small 16-ounce soft drink for 25 cents at participating U.S. McDonald's restaurants. The offer is valid at any time throughout the day. No other purchase is required.
"As the fastest-growing demographic group in the U.S., senior citizens are more active today than ever before," said Ed Rensi, president and CEO of McDonald's U.S.A. ``Their busy lifestyle makes them an important market segment, and we believe our new discount drink policy will give older Americans even more reasons to visit McDonald's."
McDonald's commitment to seniors extends beyond the new discount drink plan. On any given day, more than 40,000 senior workers serve McDonald's customers around the world.
McDonald's is the leading foodservice retailer in the global marketplace, with more than 13,000 restaurants in 66 countries. About 80 percent of McDonald's restaurant businesses are locally owned and operated by independent entrepreneurs.

Mcdonalds still offers the senior Coffee discount. The one problem is that many times the people working at the register have never heard of it and then will ask the manager or something , which is fine, but sometimes they end up making their own rule about it, like it is 50 cents or
it is 10% or 50%. It is good to print out the guidelines and keep them in your pocket for the times you are facing someone at the counter who does not know about The Seenior Coffee Discount.

You could use the article printed here, but I might use the part abouve the date shown of '93, because the same offer is still in effect, but you don't want to have to explain all of that, if you don't have to B)

If I find it posted somewhere else and more reecently, I will post the address here.

hope this is helpful,
