McCORMICK TRIBUNE FLOOD FUND ALLOCATES $2.5 MILLION

 CHICAGO, Aug. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Tribune Midwestern companies' Neighbors in Need Fund officials announced today that $2.5 million has been allocated to flood relief agencies.
 The Robert R. McCormick Tribune Foundation matched dollar for dollar the first $1 million in contributions from its general funds. The total donated by the audiences of Tribune's Midwestern businesses since July 22 exceeds $1.5 million. Additionally contributions will be distributed in September 1993.
 The $2.5 million has been allocated as follows:
 Adventist Community Services $50,000
 American Red Cross $1,100,000
 Brotherhood Commission, Southern
 Baptist Convention $300,000
 Christian Reformed World Relief Committee $80,000
 Cooperative Disaster Child Care -- Church
 of the Brethren $20,000
 Church World Service $250,000
 The Salvation Army $450,000
 Second Harvest National Food Bank Network $250,000
 Tribune's Midwestern businesses -- the Chicago Tribune, WGN-AM, WGN-TV, ChicagoLand Television (CLTV) and the Chicago Cubs -- promoted the Neighbors in Need Fund, a fund of the Robert R. McCormick Tribune Foundation, to help victims of the area's 1993 flood.
 All administrative costs of the fund are borne by the participating companies and the McCormick Tribune Foundation.
