 Newswire) - Mazda Motor Corporation has announced the following organizational and personnel changes which are effective January January: see month.  1, 2007.

The organizational changes are aimed at strengthening Mazda's personnel and labor initiatives from a global perspective through improved services in the personnel and human development departments. This is to be achieved by further developing the abilities of managers and staff members and how they are utilized within Mazda, while also working at improving levels of job satisfaction.

The human resources department within an organization, years ago known as the "personnel department," manages the administrative aspects of the employees.  Division, Minoru Mitsuda, said, "These organizational changes have the goals of strengthening our strategic planning Strategic planning is an organization's process of defining its strategy, or direction, and making decisions on allocating its resources to pursue this strategy, including its capital and people.  functions for the future and for the global development of personnel and labor. Fundamental to these changes is the desire to maximize the potential of our human resources and provide an even better working environment for our employees."

The company is actively developing its middle management ranks and fostering the development of its next generation of leaders. These changes are one of a series of efforts aimed at human resources development from a global perspective.

Goals of Organizational Changes

1) To accelerate the development and utilization of human resources within the Mazda group, strengthen Mazda's personnel and labor strategy planning functions from a global perspective.

2) Consolidate the functions of the human resources and labor departments The Department of Labor (DOL) administers federal labor laws for the Executive Branch of the federal government. Its mission is "to foster, promote, and develop the welfare of the wage earners of the United States, to improve their working , and strengthen the support framework necessary to accomplish the business objectives of all departments.

3) To raise the quality of service that the personnel and human development departments can offer to management and employees in order to increase levels of job satisfaction.

Details of Organizational Changes

1) The Global HR Planning Dept. has been newly formed and certain functions of the Human Resources Dept., Employee Relations Dept. and Career Development Dept. were transferred to it.

2) The Human Resources Dept. and Employee Relations Dept. have been integrated into a new department that has been named the Personnel & Labor Affairs Dept.

3) The HR Business Support Dept. has been newly formed and certain functions of the Human Resources Dept., Employee Relations Dept. and Career Development Dept. were transferred to it.

4) In line with the organizational changes stated above, the Human Resources Dept., Employee Relations Dept. and Career Development Dept. have all been eliminated.
