Mayor Patrick McManus and Mayor James Garner Join the Board of Directors of China Natural Gas, Inc.


NEW YORK -- China Natural Gas, Inc., the first China-based natural gas public company in the US capital markets (stock symbol: CHNG, website: www.naturalgaschina.com), announced today the addition of Patrick McManus and James Garner to China Natural Gas, Inc. Board of Directors. CHNG has five board members, of which three of them are independent board members.

Mr. Patrick McManus, CPA (Computer Press Association, Landing, NJ) An earlier membership organization founded in 1983 that promoted excellence in computer journalism. Its annual awards honored outstanding examples in print, broadcast and electronic media. The CPA disbanded in 2000. , J.D., will join the company as Chairman of Audit Committee.

Mr. McManus brings over 25 years of experience in business, finance and law to the company. He was elected Mayor of the City of Lynn, Massachusetts in 1992 and served in this position until his retirement to the private practice of law and accounting in 2002. While serving the City of Lynn as its Mayor, he was elected a member and trustee of the Executive Committee of the U.S. Conference of Mayors (USCM) with responsibility for developing policy for the USCM. He also served as the Chairman of the USCM Science and Technology Subcommittee, the Urban Water Council, and the USCM Audit Committee. The profitable China Natural Gas, Inc. ("CHNG") owns and operates a natural gas pipeline in Xian, China and distributes natural gas to residential and industrial customers in the Xian area. CNG is currently supplying natural gas to households and wholesales compressed natural gas Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) is a substitute for gasoline (petrol) or diesel fuel.
