Included in the episode is a stirring reading by series star Brandy, together with Angelou, of "And Still I Rise," from Angelou's third volume of poetry.

When an eager Moesha, who's working as an assistant at Vibe Magazine, bluffs her way into an interview with Angelou by posing as a reporter, she gets more than she bargained for. After Moesha peppers her interview subject with questions such as "What's Oprah like?" and "When you first started writing, how did you get people to recognize your talent?" she receives words of wisdom from the compassionate Angelou.

In her autobiography, Angelou recounts that sometime early in the 1950s, she bluffed her way into a job as a dancer and singer. She was a quick study whose winning way with audiences overcame any deficiencies in skill. She performed in the popular West Indian calypso Calypso, in Greek mythology
