CLEARWATER, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 24, 1998--Maximal Systems, Inc., a leading developer of Computer On-Line Data (COLD) technology, Tuesday announced the release of MaxRetriever for DOCS Open(r), the award-winning document management software from PC DOCS, Inc.

MaxRetriever for DOCS Open allows computer generated documents, such as accounting reports, invoices, statements, and purchase orders, to be stored in DOCS Open libraries along with related business documents.

MaxRetriever for DOCS Open is a fully integrated solution that populates the DOCS Open library's SQL database with COLD document indexes, while retaining Maximal's highly optimized document library for storage of actual report files. This approach extends DOCS Open as the central repository for all of an organization's business documents, including COLD documents.

The integrated package allows customers to leverage the document management capabilities of DOCS Open for their COLD documents, including full history of access to documents and use of DOCS Routing(tm) to distribute reports and other documents.
