Matsushita Electric Works Finds Hand and Foot Warming Effective for Improving Circulatory Dynamics.Tokyo, Japan, Oct 25, 2005 - (JCNN JCNN Japan Corporate News Network ) - Matsushita Electric Works Matshushita Electric Works (MEW), Ltd. can trace its beginnings to a company that was founded in 1918 by Konosuke Matsushita. Matshushita began making the flashlight components for bicyles, then progressed to making lighting fixtures. (MEW mew, miaow the vocal sound characteristic of domestic cats; in various languages it is spelled in 31 different ways, which include 'miaow', 'meow', 'myaus', 'mio', and 'mau'. See also vocalization. ) announced on October 24 the results of its latest research on limb warming. Specifically, MEW observed the effects of warming hands and feet using foot-bath (steam-type) and hand-bath (heater-type) devices in collaboration with the Inage Hospital in Chiba. The results indicated that the warming of hands and feet helps improve the circulatory dynamics. In particular, it increases the blood flow and promotes sweating. Meanwhile, the warming does not induce a sharp increase in the blood pressure level and the heart rate so it can keep heart strains low. Details of the research were presented at the21st Annual Meeting of the Japan Society of Health Sciences.
