Vinyl; plot notes. JS The happy London trio of 14-year-old friends Nesta, Izzie, and Lucy is back, this time with the story focusing on Nesta. Her dad is a movie director and her mother is a TV newsreader A client program that is used to read messages from Internet-based discussion groups (the venerable Usenet) or syndication feeds such as RSS and Atom. Some programs provide a search and organization tool for both newsgroups and feeds as well as local e-mail messages, contacts and other from Jamaica. Fearful that the mother is about to lose her job, the family cuts back on expenses just as Nesta begins to go out with a wealthy boy who has some snobbish snob·bish adj. Of, befitting, or resembling a snob; pretentious. snob bish·ly adv. friends who scoff at her clothes and her color. Nesta toys with a little gambling to make money (a fiasco); thinks about modeling (but it costs too much money); and drinks some champagne and orange juice that makes her act weird (and she swears never to do it again). Basically, these are nice girls and good friends, so eventually all turns out well. Hopkins is terrific with the multiple teenage voices, using pacing and timing well to help keep listeners in the loop. Though there is some British slang, I don't think it will bother kids much--in fact they might just pick it up to use themselves.
