Maternal deaths from illegal abortions.

I enjoyed the recent Catholic Insight; I was especially struck and touched by Michael Coren's "Conversion" (pp. 10-11).

It may interest your readers that I have put together a sort of "memo" about "Maternal deaths from illegal abortions," to keep handy in case I need to refute misconceptions, mistakes or lies that claim that since with illegal abortion (back street, coat hangers, pregnant women die in huge numbers) we have to leave the current status of abortion in our country untouched. The facts and figures in this memo we have all read and heard frequently but sometimes it takes a bit of research to come up with just what we are looking for Looking for

Recently, it has been my experience that pro-abortion speakers (one CFRB CFRB Christian Fiction Review Blog
CFRB Canada's First Rogers Batteryless (radio station)
CFRB Community Forest Restoration Board

Here are the statistics: The number of deaths from illegal abortion was declining markedly prior to abortion being legalized.

Another argument against the claim that tens of thousands of pregnant women died from illegal abortion comes from doctors who later confessed that the statistics (300,000 deaths) they were spreading were fabricated. Dr. Bernard Nathanson Bernard Nathanson (born 31 July 1926 in New York) is a medical doctor and pro-life activist from New York. Nathanson graduated in 1949 from McGill University Facility of Medicine in Montreal.[2] He has been licensed to practice in New York state since 1952.  of New York New York, state, United States
