Masters in class, restaged, and honored.In December, Rutgers MASON GROSS SCHOOL OF THE ARTS Mason Gross School of the Arts is the arts conservatory at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey named for Mason W. Gross, the sixteenth president of Rutgers. Mason Gross is a professional school that offers the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance, Theater Arts and Visual featured a restaging of Bill T. Jones' Love Re-defined: King Kong (1996) at its DancePlus Fall concert. Janet Wong, associate artistic director of the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company, set the piece on the students while the company was in residence last September. Senior Aaron Ramos danced the lead. Jones Dance Company soloist and Broadway Lion King dancer. * In November, GOUCHER COLLEGE welcomed Romana Kryzanowska,. protege of Joseph Pilates, for master classes. Kryzanowska had studied at the School of American Ballet The School of American Ballet is located in New York City, in Lincoln Center. It is considered one of the most prestigious and notable ballet schools in the United States and teaches some of the most talented young dancers in the country. in the 1930s. Balanchine had introduced her to Joseph Pilates in 1941. She has since devoted her life to his method. More than 50 students participated in each of the two mat classes co-sponsored by the college's Pilates Center and Dance Department. * On his 80th birthday in November, Murray Louis received an honorary doctorate from SHENANDOAH UNIVERSITY and watched the students perform his 1956 classic, Bach Suite.
