Choirs from Huddersfield and Calderdale were well represented in the Festival Of Brass And Voices. It is thought that the North provided members of more than 30 male voice choirs and about 20 ladies' choirs to add to this spectacular concert. The singers shared the platform with Brighouse and Rastrick and Grimethorpe Bands conducted by William Relton. The chorusmaster and assistant musical director was Malcolm Fairless, who sings in Huddersfield Choral Society
