Mass etiquette.I would like to comment on the January January: see month. Glad You Asked ("Why do we hold hands during the Our Father?") by David Philippart. Holding hands was brought into the Catholic Church by the charismatics, who copied it from the Protestants. There is nothing in the rubrics that directs people to hold hands during the Eucharistic Eu·cha·rist n. 1. A sacrament and the central act of worship in many Christian churches, which was instituted at the Last Supper and in which bread and wine are consecrated and consumed in remembrance of Jesus's death; Communion. 2. Prayer or the Our Father. Holding hands emphasizes a horizontal aspect of prayer, which focuses on the community, rather than the vertical aspect, which focuses on Our Father. True communion communion: see Eucharist; Lord's Supper. and community is found in the sharing of the eucharistic meal during Holy Communion. For us, the real moment of being unified as brothers and sisters in Christ Christ: see Jesus. Christ forgives man for his sins. [Christianity: Misc.] See : Forgiveness Christ See also Passion of Christ. Agnus Dei lamb of god. is when we share the same Blood contained in each and every Host. Therefore, holding hands is a gesture not appropriate at Mass, but very proper when praying the Our Father outside of Mass when there is no sacramental sacramental, in the Roman Catholic Church, aid to devotion that is not a sacrament. Sacramentals are commonly divided into six classes: prayer, anointing, eating, confession, giving, and blessings. Communion. The Mass is the public prayer of the universal church. It is not the personal prayer of any one or even several individuals. Name withheld Bridgetown, Barbados |
