 ('VTEC') have announced that Marubeni America Corporation ('MAC') has acquired a 15% equity position in VTEC, an innovative plastics technology company known for its patented plastic automotive rear view mirror products, ubiquitous polymeric coatings and glazing products and other related patented technologies, in June, 2006.

VTEC, privately held, has central operations Central Operations (CO) is a major command of the London Metropolitan Police that provides operational support to the rest of the service. It is commanded by Assistant Commissioner Tarique Ghaffur.  in Coventry UK, and offices in Bergerac, France and Cambridge MA, and manufacturing plants in China and India. US operations are headquartered in Southfield MI. VTEC plans to manufacture more than 5 million plastic automotive rear view mirrors in 2007, replacing the conventional glass rear view mirror on vehicle.

Marubeni Specialty Chemicals Inc. ('MSCI'), in White Plains, NY, a Marubeni Chemicals Division unit, has also engaged with VTEC to become an exclusive distributor of its plastic automotive rear view mirrors to Japanese automotive companies in North America, Europe and Asia. Tokyo-based Marubeni Plax Corporation, another Marubeni Chemicals Division unit, will also play a role in the distribution of VTEC products to Japanese automotive companies in Japan.

Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  Jeanne Housman said in an interview.
