Opportunities for Lawyers and Powerful Free Research Tool for Legal

Professionals

Martindale-Hubbell(R), the leading client development resource for the legal profession, has introduced a new feature for locating and reviewing in-depth articles about a wide variety of legal topics to its award-winning martindale.com Web site.

The offering is accessible from the new "Legal Articles" category on the martindale.com home page. Users can search for articles by topic, industry or area of practice, article title or keyword, date range, author name and firm name. This search will then return a list of relevant articles, providing the article title, the author and the author's law firm.

Clicking on the title of the article that interests them brings users to an abstract of the selected document. Users must simply register with martindale.com (free service) if they wish to access the complete article.

In addition to the Legal Articles link on the home page, a new "Article" icon appears next to a martindale.com firm or attorney listing if they have posted an article on the new martindale.com articles database. Clicking on the name of the attorney or law firm will take registered users to the list of relevant articles published by that individual or firm.

Once an article is viewed, users are given the option of sending an email to the author, emailing the article to a friend or colleague, creating a printer-friendly version of the article, or even viewing more articles by the same author.

"This new product will allow our law firm customers to share what they know and what their firm can do with the tens of thousands of legal professionals who search martindale.com on a monthly basis," said Gazzolo. "It has been enthusiastically welcomed by our law firm customers, more than 90 of whom have already signed up to contribute articles to the database. In fact, as of today we have received roughly 1,800 articles addressing a wide range of legal topics."

The Legal Articles offering is the newest component of the Martindale-Hubbell Advantage program, a portfolio of client development initiatives exclusively for law firms that are members of the Martindale-Hubbell Legal Network.

The Martindale-Hubbell Advantage program consists of several face-to-face and online client development opportunities. In addition to the new electronic publishing opportunities on martindale.com, law firm members of the Martindale-Hubbell Legal Network are eligible to co-host a Counsel To Counsel forum attended by senior corporate counsel, to send guest speakers to panel discussions at major corporate counsel conferences, and to participate in various speaking and publishing opportunities in collaboration with the LexisNexis Mealey Publications & Conferences Group. Details will be announced throughout 2003 regarding additional components of the Martindale-Hubbell Advantage program, including other innovative online marketing products for law firms.

The Martindale-Hubbell Legal Network is the number-one resource for information about the worldwide legal profession, and is consulted daily by lawyers, business executives and consumers.
