In October, lord of the dance Michael Flatley Michael Ryan Flatley (born July 16, 1958 in Detroit, Michigan) is an Irish-American step dancer from the south side of Chicago. His parents were from County Mayo and County Carlow. As a child, he moved to Chicago - the city which he considers his home town. , 49, married his co-star Niamh O'Brien.  in County Cork County Cork (Irish: Contae ChorcaĆ­) is the most southwesterly and the largest of the modern counties of Ireland. Cork is nicknamed "The Rebel County", as a result of the support of the townsmen of Cork in 1491 for Perkin Warbeck, a , Ireland. The couple met in 1993 on the set of Riverdance. O'Brien, 32, has also performed with Flatley in Lord of the Dance, Feet of Flames, and Celtic Tiger.
