Marmon-Herrington Hosts The Productivity & Performance Event Featuring its Low Floor Vehicles and All Wheel Drive Systems.

Several representatives of local Westchester County municipalities, police and fire departments, as well as transit authorities gathered at the City of White Plains' new Vehicle Service Center to receive an introduction to Marmon-Herrington's new Low Floor vehicles and their existing All Wheel Drive systems.

The PPE began with a morning seminar discussing the benefits of Low Floor -- Marmon-Herrington's innovative drive technology that allows the vehicle's floor to be positioned at the right height for any application -- down to as low as 14 inches instead of the traditional 42.

In the afternoon guests attended a similar seminar on the topic of how to specify an All Wheel Drive vehicle for municipal duty. Also included in the days' activities were test drives and rides. Low Floor vehicles appeal to transit authorities because they comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act by eliminating the need for a lift when transporting disabled and elderly people. For emergency vehicles, Low Floor allows workers to have access to bulky equipment at a low height for loading and unloading. Low Floor, already in use for commercial pick-up & delivery, provides better space utilization and improved ingress and egress for command post and crime scene vehicles.
