Marley's Boast by Marv Gold is a "sequel" to the famous work by Charles Dickens, "A Christmas Carol", and is set on Christmas Eve 1860, some seventeen years after Scrooge underwent his transformation from miser to benefactor because of his experiences with the ghosts of Christmases past, present and future. Now seven years after his own passing, Scrooge's ghost is quite disturbed, something evil is afoot and he vows to confront it. Now Tiny Tim Tiny Tim

 has grown into a bright, healthy, capable young man and has met the young and attractive Annabel. Bob Cratchit (thanks to Scrooge's nephew Fred) now owns Scrooge's loan company. The only problem seems to be the restless, grasping, ever-complaining ghost of Scrooge's old partner, Jacob Marley who seems to want to wreak havoc and revenge among those he deems responsible for his dismal fate of walking the earth wrapped in the chains forged from his own avarice av·a·rice

. A highly recommended, 38-page, illustrated chapbook chapbook, one of the pamphlets formerly sold in Europe and America by itinerant agents, or "chapmen." Chapbooks were inexpensive—in England often costing only a penny—and, like the broadside, they were usually anonymous and undated. , Marley's Boast is a true literary homage to a timeless classic and wonderfully entertaining reading.
