Marketing Violence to Kids.

Last week's report by the Federal Trade Commission exposing the way adult entertainment products are sometimes marketed to children raised ire all over the country and led to hearings on Capitol Capitol, seat of the U.S. Congress

Hill. With Hollywood violence becoming a major issue in the presidential campaign, the Business Journal asks:

Do you think Hollywood should do a better job of keeping violent or sexually explicit material Sexually explicit material (video, photography, creative writing) presents sexual content without deliberately obscuring or censoring it. The term sexually explicit media is often used as euphemism for pornography.  out of the hands of children?

Absolutely. I think it needs to be regulated more. I also think that they should not display any type of commercials on daytime television Daytime television is the general term for television shows produced that are intended to air during the daytime hours.

While some shows are identified as "daytime TV shows", "daytime television" is not a genre per se.

The pictures look violent and sexually explicit. Kids sit on the bus while they go to school and it's right there in front of their face. I addition, I agree with the parental advisory stickers on video games and music. I don't believe it is censorship

because you can still buy it. Parents should be advised that the music is violent.

No, it is not Hollywood's responsibility to shield children from inappropriate material. I think that is up to the parents. They need to be the ones controlling what their children see. The problem is that parents don't care

and they don't take that responsibility. But that doesn't mean that it is up to Hollywood to protect kids from sex and violence in movies.

It's time It's Time was a successful political campaign run by the Australian Labor Party (ALP) under Gough Whitlam at the 1972 election in Australia. Campaigning on the perceived need for change after 23 years of conservative (Liberal Party of Australia) government, Labor put forward a  for people to stop blaming Hollywood. Even if they change the movie rating system and enforce it, kids will still see that stuff. The parents need to be the ones who look out for that. But they also need to realize that kids are kids and you can't protect them from everything.

I do think that Hollywood is a bit out of control when it comes to the things that can be seen in movies that are rated PG and PG-13, but Hollywood isn't the one letting kids go to those kinds of movies. It is the parents and the guardians that need to step up and not allow the kids to go to those kinds of movies. The parents can even see the movie first and check it out to see if it would be appropriate for their kids.

I know that kids shouldn't see that stuff, but kids are going to see violence and learn about sex sometime. If you shelter them and keep them from all of those things that they are curious about, then they will just go wild when they have the freedom to choose on their own. It's a tough battle.

Well, I don't have kids of my own, but if I did, I know that I would not want my kids seeing half of the stuff that is out right now. I don't really think it is Hollywood's job to protect the kids from sex and violence. Maybe I would feel differently if I was a parent, but to me it just seems that the parents should be the ones deciding what the kids see or don't see. People are always looking for Looking for
