, said, "As healthcare organizations continue to broaden their operations, the need for integrated, secure, scaleable networks is leading healthcare organizations toward some form of Internet-based communications. Internet-based technologies now point the way to methods of improving; care systems and patient responsiveness, while streamlining cost of operations and improving communications within increasingly far-flung healthcare organizations.

"The strength of IBM and CHROME Global's offerings in the e-health area is the end-to-end integrated solutions, that enables the achievement of the client's business objectives through web-enabled clinical information management," he went on to add.

MarkCare's proprietary PACS enables the digital capture and storage of all types of radiological images (x-rays, MRI's CT's, etc.). The expense to purchase and develop film is eliminated in a PACS-based radiology department. The use of PACS allows for increased productivity from the radiology department by sharply reducing the turnaround time (1) In batch processing, the time it takes to receive finished reports after submission of documents or files for processing. In an online environment, turnaround time is the same as response time.  of a radiological report and increasing patient throughput. The percentage of lost images and files is virtually reduced to zero versus loss rates of 8% or more in typical hospitals. Up-to-date patient history is available at all times, and can be viewed simultaneously from multiple locations including via the Internet. Digital image archiving virtually eliminates the need for large film storage rooms.
