Marilyn Hilton MS achievement center opens at UCLA. (National MS Society News).The National MS Society's Southern California Southern California, also colloquially known as SoCal, is the southern portion of the U.S. state of California. Centered on the cities of Los Angeles and San Diego, Southern California is home to nearly 24 million people and is the nation's second most populated region, Chapter and the UCLA UCLA University of California at Los Angeles UCLA University Center for Learning Assistance (Illinois State University) UCLA University of Carrollton, TX and Lower Addison, TX Department of Neurology have joined to create the Marilyn Hilton MS Achievement Center at the University of California, Los Angeles UCLA comprises the College of Letters and Science (the primary undergraduate college), seven professional schools, and five professional Health Science schools. Since 2001, UCLA has enrolled over 33,000 total students, and that number is steadily rising. . People with MS will find a wide range of therapies and care offered by the Center to complement the medical management of MS. This "full service" center, which had been in the planning stage for two years before opening last June, offers day-long programs to help people manage the daily life struggles--large and small--inherent with MS, and to improve their quality of life. Members of the Center receive preventive, rehabilitative re·ha·bil·i·tate tr.v. re·ha·bil·i·tat·ed, re·ha·bil·i·tat·ing, re·ha·bil·i·tates 1. To restore to good health or useful life, as through therapy and education. 2. , counseling, recreational, and educational services. Full- and half-day programs are available. Scholarship and share-of-cost support is available from the Center. Operating costs operating costs npl → gastos mpl operacionales are covered by the Southern California Chapter, which has launched a $1.5 million campaign, spearheaded by a lead gift from the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, to support the Center for the next five years.
