Marifil Mines Finds Bonanza Silver at Toruel Property.SPOKANE, Wash. -- Marifil Mines Ltd. Systematic surface channel sampling across the main vein returns silver values grading up to 5,871 g/t Ag (170 oz.), along with 7.08 g/t Au. Of 187 samples assayed to date, 39% contain more than 100 g/t Ag and 23% contain more than 200 g/t Ag. The Company's wholly-owned Toruel property is located in Rio Negro Province, Argentina. Access to the property is via a well maintained gravel road. The Toruel vein system strikes N70 degrees E and has a nearly vertical dip. It has been traced for more than 1,700 meters along strike and is open-ended. This complex vein system comprises a series of quartz fissure fillings, sub-parallel veins, anastamosing vein splits, silicified si·lic·i·fy v. si·lic·i·fied, si·lic·i·fy·ing, si·lic·i·fies v.tr. The central portion of the main vein is well exposed for 1,050 meters and ranges from one to over ten meters wide. Sampling of this part of the vein shows a weighted average grade of 180 g/t Ag over an average width of 2.5 meters. Other significant silver values include 1.7m at 854 g/t (24.8 oz/t); 1.45m at 1025 g/t (29.7 oz/t); 2.1m at 1137 g/t (32.9 oz/t); 1.4m at 1756 g/t (50.92 oz/t); and 6.8 m at 536 g/t (15.5 oz/t). Dick Walters, Executive V.P. of Marifil, commented upon examining the findings, "In my 14 years of exploring in Patagonia, this is the most exciting array of surface silver values I have seen since the discovery of the Mina Martha silver mine." The Toruel vein is just one of several known veins on the property. Exploration reveals a second parallel vein, located 70 m north of the main vein, containing visible silver and lead minerals. The initial samples show highly anomalous values similar to the main vein. Most of the assays of this vein are pending. Similarly, a third vein occurs near the western end of the main vein system and lies about 70 m to the south. This vein has been mapped and sampled along a 113 meter strike length and grades 54 g/t Ag over a weighted average width of 2.2 meters. Both ends of the vein are concealed by alluvium al·lu·vi·um n. pl. al·lu·vi·ums or al·lu·vi·a Sediment deposited by flowing water, as in a riverbed, flood plain, or delta. Also called alluvion. . A fourth vein has been identified 550 m further south but has not yet been sampled. Company geologists have collected 220 samples so far and mapping and further sampling are continuing on both ends of the main vein as well as along sub-parallel veins. The mineralized samples from all veins generally contain highly anomalous amounts of lead, copper, zinc, molybdenum, arsenic, antimony antimony (ăn`tĭmō'nē) [Lat. antimoneum], semimetallic chemical element; symbol Sb [Lat. stibium,=a mark]; at. no. 51; at. wt. 121.75; m.p. 630.74°C;; b.p. 1,750°C;; sp. gr.
