Margaret Graham Hills received the Stanley Holden Distinguished Teaching Award in June at the seventh annual Los Angeles Dance Invitational.Margaret Graham Hills received the Stanley Holden Stanley Holden, born Stanley Waller, (January 27 1928–May 11 2007) was a British American ballet dancer and choreographer. Born in London, he joined the Royal Ballet in 1944 and won notice for performing numerous character roles, especially "Widow Simone" in the Distinguished Teaching Award in June at the seventh annual Los Angeles Dance Invitational. Hills began her career with the Sadler's Wells Ballet and after an injury joined the faculty at The Royal Ballet School The Royal Ballet School is a specialist, co-educational school located in premises at White Lodge, Richmond Park, in the London Borough of Richmond; and an upper school at premises in Covent Garden. It combines a mainstream academic education with an intensive dance training. . She currently teaches adult ballet classes at The Westside School of Ballet in Santa Monica and has been adjunct professor of ballet at UCLA UCLA University of California at Los Angeles UCLA University Center for Learning Assistance (Illinois State University) UCLA University of Carrollton, TX and Lower Addison, TX and at Santa Monica College Santa Monica College was first opened in 1929 as Santa Monica Junior College. Current enrollment is 32,000 students in more than 90 fields of study. The college also has one of the largest international student populations of any community college in the US, with approximately . Over the years, Hills has taught in a number of illustrious L.A. studios including those of Stanley Holden, Tanya Lichine, and George Zoritch. |
