Marconi chooses Acterna's ANT-40G advanced network tester.Acterna (OTCBB:ACTR ACTR - A Christmas To Remember ACTR - Acquired Commercial Technology for Retrieval ACTR - Acquisition Cycle Time Reduction ACTR - Actuator ACTR - American Council of Teachers of Russian ACTR - Association for Canadian Theatre Research) has announced that Marconi (MONI) has chosen to use the Acterna ANT-40G advanced network tester at its optical network research and development labs in Genoa Genoa (jĕn`ōwə), Ital. Genova, city (1991 pop. 678,771), capital of Genoa prov. and of Liguria, NW Italy, on the Ligurian Sea. Beautifully situated on the Italian Riviera, it is the chief seaport of Italy and rivals Marseilles, France, as the leading Mediterranean port., Italy. Marconi's Genoa facility develops a broad range of flexible, high-speed and high capacity optical transmission systems, and will utilise the ANT-40G to perform functionality tests on its new family of MSH MSH - Magnetoelastic Static Hysteresis MSH - Main Spring Housing (firearms) MSH - Maison des Sciences de l'Homme (Paris, France) MSH - Management Sciences for Health, Inc. MSH - Manteno State Hospital (Manteno, Illinois) MSH - Marvel Super Heros (comics) MSH - Material Sample Holders MSH - Melanocyte Stimulating Hormone MSH - Melanophore-Stimulating Hormone MSH - Memorex Systemhaus Ag (Frankfurt, Germany) MSH - Metastable Helium products, a next generation, integrated add drop multiplexer and cross connect, designed to work with line interfaces up to 40Gbit/s. Acterna's ANT-40G was launched this year to allow equipment vendors to shorten product development timelines and decrease development time by verifying that prototype components, including boards, systems and interfaces, are properly designed and are compliant with industry standards. Paolo Toponi, Managing Director of Acterna's Italian Sales Operations, said: "Marconi's R&D engineers were impressed by the quality and reliability of the measurements they were able to perform with our solution, and will now utilize the Acterna ANT-40G to verify the functionality of the company's 40Gb/s system." "We carefully follow our customers' business step by step," added Paolo Toponi. "This partnership is natural because Marconi is a customer that deeply understands its technology and testing requirements, and we develop the test and measurement solutions that fully address Marconi's needs. The ANT-40G is the result of our experience, our commitment to deliver best of breed solutions, and the open dialogue we have maintained throughout the years with our major accounts. With the ANT-40G, we are proud to continue a strong business relationship with Marconi, which confirms the quality and uniqueness of our offer." "We're grateful to Acterna for their continuous commitment," said Lorenzo Costagli, Marconi VP, SDH Italy; "We look for vendors who can align with our strategy, address our requirements, show flexibility and ensure reliability at the same time. Acterna is available to support us along one of the many critical steps that make up our development projects, which shows they have the know-how and the means to do what we need to ensure we deliver quality products." ANT-40G is a cost-efficient, easy-to-use testing solution to support equipment vendors and service providers in meeting the technical, economical, speed-to-market challenges in the face of projected increase in the 40G market. The ANT-40G is the ultimate solution tool for verification and integration testing (testing) integration testing - A type of testing in which software and/or hardware components are combined and tested to confirm that they interact according to their requirements. Integration testing can continue progressively until the entire system has been integrated.. A compact and portable solution, Acterna ANT-40G can be physically taken out into the field, is able to run automatically and can be controlled remotely. Performing tests with the ANT-40G helps locate network problems early in the installation process, thereby preventing the costly process associated with fixing network malfunctions during installation. |
