He's part of NASCAR's "Drive for Diversity" program, which supports promising minority drivers, and is signed with Joe Gibbs Racing Joe Gibbs Racing (also known as JGR) is a group of NASCAR racing teams owned by Joe Gibbs, who first started racing on the NASCAR circuit in 1991. Headquartered in Huntersville, North Carolina, more notably near Charlotte, the team amassed three NEXTEL Cup Championships  through 2011. Upfront talked to the junior at Lake Norman Lake Norman, created between 1959 and 1964 [1] as part of the construction of the Cowans Ford Dam by Duke Power, is the largest manmade body of fresh water in North Carolina. It is fed by the Catawba River. It was named after former Duke Power president Norman Cocke.  High School in Mooresville, N.C., about what draws him to the track.

(Q) What do you love about racing?

(A) The adrenaline, the excitement. Driving 120 mph, with cars on both sides of you--that feeling's amazing.

(Q) What's the biggest challenge you've faced?

(A) Some of the other drivers, especially when they've been racing that track for 30 years and a young kid comes and beats them, they try to give you a hard time.

(Q) Are you ever afraid of dying?

(A) Well, that's always in the back of your head, but when you're in the car, adrenaline takes over, and you're really focusing on what's in front of you.

(Q) Have you been accepted by other racers?

(A) Yeah, well, I've been racing all around North Carolina North Carolina, state in the SE United States. It is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean (E), South Carolina and Georgia (S), Tennessee (W), and Virginia (N). Facts and Figures
